
We love pie in our house. The Fiancée is not much a cake man so I have adapted to pie. To the point we are even serving it at our wedding instead of cake! Ha ha! So I have been trying all kinds of pie trying to which one is my favorite. So far… This one is winning! It’s perfect all year round! Here we go!
2 cups white sugar (my measuring 1 cup was dirty.)1 TBSP of corn starch
1 teaspoon vanilla
(I added 1 shake cinnamon, 2 shakes nutmeg. Why not right?!) Throw in your 5 cups of sliced strawberries and toss!
Toss!
Dump the strawberries into prepared pie crust. Cut slits into top of the pie so it doesn’t explode in the oven. I usually get somewhat creative with my slits 🙂 Bake at 450 for 10 minutes then reduce heat to 350 and continue baking for 15 minutes then rotate pie and continue for another 25 minutes. Then ta-da! The pie is done!
