DIY Easy Dish Towel Apron

More then throwing anything away I HATE making returns… So normally I have to get creative with things. This apron took me a total of 5 minutes to make basically and only have 4 easy stitches.

All you need is:

  • An oversized dish towel of your choosing
  • Matching thread
  • 4 sewing pins
  • 1 set of matching shoelaces
  • First, grab your old or new dish towel, lay it out flat and prepare for ironing.Iron down the whole dish towel to make perfectly flat and has even corners. Take you dish towel and fold in half long ways. And then fold it again from the loose corners up half way of the dish towel. I decided to make my pockets unequal. 2 pockets the same size on the edges and one larger middle pocket. So from one edge corner, I measuer7 inches and marked it with a straight line. (I used a chalk pencil so it would just rub off and is easy to get out.) Next, I did the same on the other corner. Measured 7 inches in and marked it. After all of that you just pin down the sides to make the sewing lines in place. When your finished sewing your 4 lines, go ahead and loop your shoe strings through the open gap between the fabric above the pockets. Well didn’t I tell you? Done! Finished! Easy as a pie! Well easy as eating a pie in my opinion.
  • Please let me know of I’m missing some instructions, if you give it a try yourself, or if you have been wanting to do this for awhile now and need a push, (I’m super good at pushing🤫).
