Fresh fruit is sold out.
Grocery stores are only allowing a certain amount of visits.
We are barely allowed to leave the house…
So I had to think of what to do.
All of our strawberries I purchased started going bad quickly. Very quickly I may add and I had to think of something.
So at home… dehydrating… this is the best plan I could come up with.
Directions:
Thinly slice strawberries, preheat oven to 150 degrees.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay strawberries out flat.
Sprinkle with sugar. Lay the sheet in the bottom rack and prop the door open.
Leave for 2 hours. Pull them out and flip all strawberry slices, sprinkle with more sugar and put back in the oven for another 1 1/2 hours.
After finished close oven door and turn off the oven. Leave in there for another 2 hours or longer till fully dried.
Once ready to store them put them into a plastic container and leave it on the counter for a couple days till all the moisture is out. Do not put on the lid. You can leave it cocked on to keep junk out but do not seal it.
I just left mine on my counter top and have been nibbling on them whenever I need a pick me up.

And then enjoy! Put them in ice cream, eat them as a small snack by themselves, put them in your cereal, (if you are on of the ones blessed with milk) add them to soap you’re creating, feed them to the dog. Do whatever! The world is your oyster my friend!

Hope you enjoyed this easy peasy, leftover, hurry and eat it, recipe.
We are all in this together people! Share your thoughts and comments below and I’ll be posting new things as soon as I can.
