Flashback Friday! Crestline CA

I wanted to do a flashback Friday this month to go back in time a little bit. Back to when I could buy flour and toilet paper. Back when I could just run out to the store and not have to set an alarm for 1 in the morning to set up a grocery delivery…

I wanted to go back a little. So I thought, and thought, where do I want to go back to? A recipe? A place?

I choose a place. I choose actually one of my favorite places Crestline CA !!

I love it up in those beautiful mountains. Spending time at the small local coffee shop, walking into all of the small welcoming cluttered stores, watching people play or walk around the lake, enjoying the seasonal snow falls…

My favorite coffee shop is up there with the best cheese scones 🤤

It’s almost always where I want to be. When I hear the quote, “The mountains are calling and I must go,” I always feel a twist in my heart because of how far away I am.

There’s always an ear to the ground when it comes to those mountains. We are constantly watching and waiting for something to scream out to us up there that it’s the right place.

We know the likely hood of us moving up there anytime soon is very small but I can’t help but be impatient.

There’s a quote by a Nineteenth-century theologian, Charles Spurgeon, that says, “Unanswered petitions are not unheard. God keeps a file for our prayers. They are not blown away by the wind; they are treasured in the King’s archives.”

I know God hears my prayers. I know He knows my heart and designed it this way for a reason. I know that He is faithful and loves me and wants me to be happy. I just know it. My prayers are just being archived for right now. Tucked away till He can start answering them and suppling me with everything needed to complete His purpose.

So more waiting. And making do with what I got here for now and seeing what is left for me to do here.

Aww Flashback Friday you kinda made me sad but it’s alright. I’ll get back up to the mountains soon enough. I’ll just prepare myself to always be ready for the yes!
