Since the winds have died down and the rains have picked up and then died down again and the gardens have been going through a lot lately. Even more so, I’m desperately considering a green a house somewhere on the property…
Potatoes: I made another oops with these I think. They where actually doing really well but then I added more dirt and I don’t think it was good stuff for the potatoes. Our soil here is a heavy clay and usually I try to mix it with other dirt I purchase but I didn’t think. I just added what was at the bottom of my mix bucket and it was all clay and rocks. But while it was dry I didn’t notice much and then it rained… and I can see the damage done 🤦🏻♀️Romane Lettuce: I gotta say, it’s doing well. This cool weather and extra sunshine has been making it so happy and it’s growing bigger everyday. Jalapeño: this plant is confused y’all. It’s not sure if it’s got or cold, if it’s raining or blowing dry fire winds. It’s just not sure. These little buggers have been on this plant for a month! Not getting bigger or smaller. Celery: I have two going right now and another start in the house growing from old celery stalks from the grocery store. So far so good 🤷🏻♀️Apple Tree: is bare. Basically. Waiting on the new buds to come in. Spring will be right around the corner soon enough. Purple Haze Tomatoes: again, confused. Probably a bunch because actually all of the tomatoes are confused. It’s like none of them know what season it is. And to be truthful, I don’t really know either.
Welp. That’s my February garden update for you. Lots of plans are coming into my head as to how we can make this work better and of course where the chickens are gonna go when they are to come this Spring. We shall see how that goes.
But as for a life update, a lot is going on and is going to be changing again. Praying this will all turn out all well. Send prayers if you got extra!
